Lead Designer
UO launched Ducks on Track, a new online planning tool that empowers students to view their degree progress and explore “what-if” scenarios for changing majors or adding minors. The campaign needed to generate awareness, spark curiosity, and encourage students to use the tool early and often.
The goals were to:
Build momentum for the launch across campus
Clearly communicate the tool’s value in plain, student-facing language
Drive engagement through high-visibility digital and social assets
The Challenge
As the lead designer, I:
Developed the campaign’s look and feel across print, social, and digital.
Aligned all assets with university brand guidelines.
Helped translate a complex academic tool into a clear, action-driven message for undergrads.
Digital display featured on large display screens around campus.
The campaign leaned into themes of momentum using bold typography, directional icons, and high-contrast color blocking. The Oregon Duck mascot added approachability, while duck feet graphics reinforced the “on track” metaphor.
Deliverables included:
Digital signage across campus
A branded video thumbnail used in instructional video
QR-enabled entry points linking directly to the Ducks on Track platform
Design in action
Instagram post for departments wanting to promote the launch.
Outcomes and Impact
Successfully launched in Fall 2024 as a core student planning resource
Used in official messaging by advising, orientation, and enrollment teams
Boosted visibility of Ducks on Track during key advising cycles and Week of Welcome
